Who We Are
The Contributors Breakfast Club was started in 1987 with a vision: to connect with our peers and the community through charitable work, reciprocity and social activities. In 2003, we started the CBC Foundation to formalize our charitable focus. We currently have more than 30 members representing a variety of occupations and businesses. Among these members, a “Contributor of the Year” is selected each year in recognition of the member’s overall participation in CBC events.
 
What We Do
Charitable events – CBC is not a typical breakfast club. We’re dedicated to supporting local charitable organizations with events throughout the year, including an annual golf outing, BBQ & Blues and a 5K run. Through the CBC Foundation, we support a variety of charities for which our contributions can truly make an impact. Charities we have supported include The Heart Connection, Freedom for Youth Ministries, Ruth Harbor and Make-A-Wish.
 
Social events – Our social events have included wine tasting parties, I-Cubs outings, golf outings, trips to Kansas City, Tony and Tina’s Wedding, a Valentine’s dinner and more.
 
Monthly meetings – Business meetings are held the first Friday of each month at Palmer’s Deli in West Des Moines. Speaker meetings are held the third Friday of each month, usually at Des Moines Golf and Country Club. Members also frequently meet at Rock Bottom on Thursdays.
